Waving Hello

This week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Designer Draft challenge. I used the sketch to create this nautical design.

I die cut the boat from the Wicked Nauticool set with the matching die from the Nauticool die set and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. I made a background for the boat with a piece of subtly patterned blue paper and a strip of darker blue cardstock with a wave border along the top. The boat is attached to the scene with dimensional dots. I finished the scene with a few die cut clouds around the boat.

The “waving hello” sentiment is stamped in red ink on a white panel. I set it on top of a piece of light blue faux suede ribbon folded to create a banner-like appearance. The scene is set on a kraft card base stamped with the dotted border from the Primary set in matching kraft colored ink.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Wicked Nauticool and Primary stamp sets and Nauticool and Clouds dies, Crafter’s Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black, Lady Bug, and Toffee Crunch inks, Spectrum Noir markers (BT1, BT2, IG5, TN3, TN5, TN7), Pebbles Walnut Grove 6x6 paper pad, May Arts light blue faux suede ribbon, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Real Red and Pacific Point cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Boundary Waters border punch (Fiskars)
