Hello
Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. I couldn’t resist getting the Pure Innocence It's a Sign set in last month’s release—that chalkboard just called to the teacher in me! I hadn’t inked her up yet, so I made her front and center in this school themed card.
I colored the image with Copic markers, then used white ink to stamp the “hello” sentiment on the chalkboard. So that it would stand out, I heat embossed the word with white embossing powder. I matted the colored image on a piece of Lemon Drop cardstock.
In keeping with my school theme, I layered a strip of pencil patterned paper across a red cardstock panel. I used MFT’s Notebook Edge border die to cut a perforated strip along the top of a piece of lined patterned paper so it would look like it was torn right out of a notebook, then set the die cut paper over the pencil patterned paper on an angle. I wrapped the red panel with some white twine, securing it with a bow, before adding the image panel on top.
Materials Used:
Pure Innocence It's a Sign stamp set, Electric Red and Lemon Drop cardstock, Die-namics Notebook Edge die (My Favorite Things); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Sn@p Basics 6x6 paper pad (Simple Stories); School Daze 6x6 paper pad (My Mind’s Eye); white twine (Hemptique)
