You Blow Me Away

Here's my card for the current Waltzingmouse Fanatics challenge.  My card's a pretty loose interpretation of the sketch, but if you look closely, I think you can figure out how it works!

I used the large pinwheel image from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Playful Pinwheels set as my focal image.  The pinwheel was stamped on white cardstock and the individual sections were filled in with the matching images using contrasting yellow and red inks.  A red enamel dot is set in the center for a little dimension.  I used foam tape to attach the finished pinwheel to a piece of yellow striped patterned paper.

Instead of using paper to make the curvy strip behind the pinwheel, I used sections of two crystal flourishes, positioned to create a curvy path.  The "you blow me away" sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the patterned paper panel in red ink.  I layered the finished panel on a bright red cardfront to match the red of the sentiment and the pinwheel.

Materials Used:
Playful Pinwheels stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Dandelion ink (Tsukineko); Wild Cherry ink (My Favorite Things); Real Red and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); striped paper (Studio Calico); clear crystal flourishes (Michaels); red enamel dot (Prima); foam tape

  1. Lori - I really like your take on the sketch! The colours are bright and vibrant, and the jewelled flourish captures the curve perfectly. Thanks so much for playing along with Waltzingmouse Fanatics! See you again!
