You Make Me Happy

Here’s a clean and simple design for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I used one of my new Verve sets to put this sweet card together.

I used a blue paper with a subtle pattern as a backdrop for my design.  It's actually from a winter paper pad, but it works nicely as a raindrop filled sky, too!  The “you make me happy when skies are gray” sentiment is stamped in the lower right corner of the panel in gray ink. It’s heat embossed to stand out better against the background.

To go with the sentiment, I paper pieced the set’s umbrella image using a piece of blue cardstock from my scrap pile. It’s adhered to the panel with some foam tape. A trio of silver sequins are scattered around the sentiment and umbrella as an accent.  I set the finished panel on a gray panel, then on a blue card base to match the color of the umbrella.

Materials Used:
Rain or Shine stamp set (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel and Memento Tuxedo Black  inks (Tsukineko); Marina Mist and Basic Gray cardstock (Stampin' Up!); The Arctic Winter matstack (DCWV); clear embossing powder, silver sequins (Michaels); foam tape
