All Wrapped up in the Spirit of the Season

This week’s blogger challenge theme is boxes. I used a new pillow box die from Clear and Simple Stamps to make this holiday ensemble.

The box is a fun twist on the traditional pillow box. It has a flap top that you can open to reveal a hidden message—too fun! I die cut the box from red cardstock and assembled it. To dress it up, I added a strip of silver cardstock around the middle. I die cut a bow using a die from CSS’s Bow Trio Mini die set and attached the assembled bow to the box just where the flap opens.

When the flap is opened, it reveals a message inside. This one is from the All Wrapped Up set. It’s stamped in black ink for a nice contrast against the red background.

To go with the box, I made a simple card using a sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog. One of the die cut snowflakes from the Flurries Combo set takes center stage on this one. I die cut the flake from silver cardstock, then stamped the matching dotted snowflake image on the die cut piece and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. So pretty! I topped the flake with a clear crystal and used foam tape to adhere it to the cardfront. The sentiment beneath the snowflake is also embossed in silver ink. I matted the sentiment red panel on silver cardstock before adhering it to the card for even more sparkle and shine!
