You're Always There When I Need You
Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. I used a cheery color scheme based on a piece of floral patterned paper from a Doodlebug Design paper pad.
I used a piece of green dotted patterned paper to cover most of the green card base. It’s topped with a piece of dark pink cardstock cut along the left side with MFT’s notebook edge border die. To bring in a little pattern, I adhered the piece of floral print paper to the pink panel. Instead of matting the patterned paper on another piece of cardstock, I machine stitched around the edges to give it a nice detail. Once that was in place, I layered a pair of coordinating cardstock strips on top, stretching across the cardfront.
The sentiment, from MFT’s Sending Thanks set, is stamped in Razzleberry ink on a white fishtail flag panel I made by doing a little fancy die cutting with a fishtail flag die. I backed the sentiment strip with a green pierced circle die cut and added it to the card. The sentiment is accented with a trio of sparkly green sequins.
Materials Used:
Sending Thanks stamp set, Razzleberry ink, Sour Apple cardstock, Die-namics Notebook Edge, Fishtail Flag Stax, and Pierced Circle dies (My Favorite Things); Melon Mambo and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Flower Box 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); lime green sequins (Treehouse Studio)
