Color Throwdown 269-Happy Thanksgiving
It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Vickie is our hostess this week and she’s shared a pretty color combination with us—Soft Suede, Dusty Durango, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, and Very Vanilla. The colors were perfect for a Thanksgiving themed design.
I used the current sketch from Seize the Sketch and the cute little turkey image from Lawn Fawn’s Turkey Day set for my card. I colored the turkey with markers, then cut him out. He’s attached to a green cardstock strip cut along the top with a grass border punch. I wrapped the bottom of the strip with some green baker’s twine. The “happy Thanksgiving” sentiment from the Happy Everything stamp set is stamped just above the twine in brown ink.
I covered a Soft Suede card base with a piece of houndstooth-like patterned paper. The panel is machine stitched around the edges for contrast. I even took the time to change out the thread in my sewing machine on this one! Once the stitching was done, I added a pair of layered Dusty Durango and Soft Suede panels across the cardfront. The image panel is adhered over them. I purposely cut the card base just a little bit narrower than a standard A2 cardfront to allow the image panel to hang over the edges just a bit while still fitting inside a regular envelope.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD269.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our November/December guestie, Cindy Lawrence.
