I Love You to the Moon
Here's my card for this week's sketch from Retro Sketches. It's not an exact interpretation of the sketch, but I think it's close enough to still count!
I used a die cut circle debossed with a dotted pattern to create a large moon for the lower right corner of the card. After adhering the circle to the blue card base, I trimmed it down so the edges were flush with the edges of the card, then wrapped the cardfront with some natural twine, securing it with a bow.
For the second round element overlapping the large circle, I used the critter in a space ship image from the Paper Smooches Space Cadet stamp set. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out, then used dimensional dots to attach it to the cardfront, overlapping both the moon and the twine.
The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Cosmos set. So it would really stand out against the blue background, I stamped the text in white pigment ink, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. A few silver sequin "stars" scattered around the open spaces complete the design.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Paper Smooches Space Cadet and Cosmos stamp sets, Crafter's Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock, Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink, Spectrum Noir markers (CG1, CG2, CG3, CG4, BT1, BT2, TB4, CT2, CT4, IG2, IG3, IG5, IG7), Lifestyle Crafts Spotted embossing folder, Hemptique natural twine, silver sequins, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots
other: Brocade Blue and Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin' Up!); white embossing powder (Michaels); circle die (Spellbinders)
