You Are Special
This week’s blogger challenge theme is things with wings. I used a butterfly as my winged thing along with this week’s sketch from The Paper Players.
My butterfly is from the Butterfly Garden 1 stamp set from Clear and Simple Stamps. I stamped the butterfly in pink ink on a cream butterfly die cut with the matching Butterflies 1 die. I used vellum to cut another butterfly shape and layered that over the stamped image, attaching it only at the center so the wings could be bent up for dimension.
To go with the pink butterfly, I used a pink and cream chevron patterned paper for the large panel on the cardfront. It’s matted on cream cardstock and set on a pink cardstock panel. I ran a strip of narrow pink grosgrain ribbon across the panel at the bottom of the patterned paper, then tucked a trio of cream notch ended strips, cut with CSS’s Favor Flags die, underneath the left side of the ribbon strip. The butterfly is adhered to the cardfront at the right side of the ribbon strip. I added a crystal flourish extending out from behind it as an elegant flight trail. The “you are special” sentiment from the Butterfly Garden 1 set is stamped underneath the butterfly in gray ink.
Materials Used:
Butterfly Garden 1 stamp set, You’re Such a Gray-cious Host ink, I’m a Princess Pink and On the Catwalk Cream cardstock, Butterflies 1 and Favor Flags dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); white vellum (The Paper Company); Memento Luxe Angel Pink ink (Tsukineko); Persnickety 6x6 paper pad (Lily Bee Design); pink grosgrain ribbon, clear crystal flourish, clear crystals (Michaels); foam tape
