Color Throwdown 272-Bringing You the Warmest of Wishes
It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Broni is our hostess this week and she’s shared a pretty color combination with us—Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, White, Orchid Opulence, and Smoky Slate. She's pretty on trend this week with including Orchid Opulence in her colors. Did you see that Pantone named it (or its sibling Radiant Orchid) the color of the year for Spring 2014 last week?
I used the current sketch from Retro Sketches and the Expecting the Big Guy stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas for my card. It’s stretched out from a square to a standard A2 size for easier mailing and to fit the size of the image. I colored the bunny and his sled full of gifts with Copic markers to match the challenge colors.
I used foam tape to adhere the bunny to a round gray panel embossed with a snowflake pattern. The raised flakes were lightly rubbed with a shimmery white ink pad to give them just a bit of snow-like sparkle. The panel is adhered to a piece of green paper with a pattern that reminds me of a knit sweater. After attaching the round panels to a Baja Breeze panel, I added the "bringing you the warmest of wishes" sentiment to the card, stamped on an Orchid Opulence strip in gray ink.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD272.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our November/December guestie, Cindy Lawrence.
With the holiday season fast approaching, this is our final Color Throwdown challenge for 2013. We'll be back again in January 2014 for more fabulous color challenges!
