Good Times Are Ahead
Here's my card for this month's Avery Elle AEI♥U challenge. I created a simple, bold design using a mix of patterned papers and a fun die cut shape.
I adhered a panel of multicolored striped patterned paper to the bottom of a light blue card base, then added a strip of kraft cardstock across the top of the patterned piece to set it off from the cardfront. Once that was in place, I added a piece of grid patterned paper on top, tilting it on an angle. The "good times are ahead" sentiment from the Aim High set is stamped in red pigment ink over the grid paper, extending on to the card base beneath it. The patterned paper was pretty thin, so the words stamped nicely, without a gap between the papers to make the words look broken or misaligned.
To go with the sentiment and represent the sketch's round element, I added a large die cut red curved arrow at the bottom of the stamped panel. A trio of light blue enamel dots accent the sentiment while keeping the design clean.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Avery Elle Aim High stamp set and Aim High dies, Tsukineko Memento Luxe Love Letter ink, Simple Stories 24/Seven 6x6 paper pad
other: Sea Glass and Cherry cardstock (Avery Elle); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); enamel dots (My Mind's Eye)
