The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge.  I combined the sketch with elements from the inspiration photo, most notably the red and metallic, sparkly colors to create this seasonal design.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve StampsI substituted a pretty shiny silver die cut snowflake for the circle at the top of the card.  There's a clear crystal at the snowflake's center for even more sparkle.  Instead of using a trio of pennant strips extending out from beneath the flake, I used a clear crystal flourish to make a sort of trail--and add more sparkle, too!

I used a sentiment from Verve's Christmas Is in the Air set on the bottom of the red panel.  It's heat embossed in silver to add a little dimension.  The red is adhered in place on a white card base over a silver panel embossed with a striped pattern.  I edged the silver panel with a red scalloped strip that I rescued from the floor under my table.  Things in my stamping space are a little more disorganized than usual right now because I'm doing a big reorganization, including moving furniture and supplies around.  While I'm not celebrating the holiday, I am on vacation from work until the new year, so I have a nice, concentrated block of time to do a much needed big clean up in my stamping space.  I will say that you'll be seeing a few cards with Verve stamps over the next few days because I was able to reach the box with my Verve stuff pretty easily with only a minimal amount of furniture moving.  Once I had the box out, I stuck with it for a few cards!

Materials Used:
Christmas in the Air stamp set (Verve Stamps); Encore Silver ink (Tsukineko); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Sterling Silver cardstock (Clear and Simple Stamps); white cardstock, clear crystal  (Michaels); Zing Silver embossing powder (American Crafts); Candy Cane Stripe embossing folder (Cuttlebug); snowflake die (Lil' Inker Designs); foam tape

  1. I LOVE this Lori! I think I am CASEing you... though I don't have rhinestone flourishes so I will have to come up with a substitute for that... thanks for the inspiration!! :)

  2. What an elegant card Lori...love the gold embossing and the beautiful rhinestone flourish. That was such a smart idea to use in place of the banner trio. Great card!
