Warmest Wishes

Here’s my card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I used cool blues and purples along with a bit of metallic sparkle for this wintery design.

Warmest Wishes-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Clear and Simple Stamps
I started off by stamping three different snowflakes from the Clear and Simple Stamps Flurry Days stamp set on a white panel and heat embossing them in silver. After the embossed images had cooled, I applied blue and purple distress inks over them with an ink applicator tool. I got really brave and dribbled a little water over the inked panel for a mottled appearance.

After waiting for the damp panel to dry, I edged it with shiny silver cardstock, then adhered it to a teal card base. The “warmest wishes” sentiment from the Cover Prints 1 set is stamped in teal ink on a piece of a silver Favor Flags die cut and adhered to the card, overlapping the image panel just a bit.  Originally, I stamped the sentiment in silver ink directly on the cardfront and heat embossed it, but it didn't stand out enough.  Stamping it on the silver banner did the trick!

Materials Used:
Flurry Days and Cover Prints 1 stamp sets, Party Teal Dawn ink, Party Teal Dawn, Sterling Silver, and A Blanc Check cardstock, Favor Flags die (Clear and Simple Stamps); Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, and Salty Ocean distress inks (Ranger); Encore Silver ink (Tsukineko); Zing Silver embossing powder (Ranger)
