Here's my card for this month--and this year's--first Viva la Verve sketch. I combined the sketch with the suggested color scheme of red, aqua, and brown--one of my favorites!--to come up with this love themed design. The card also works for this month's Verve Diva Inspirations challenge to add shimmer and shine to your project.
I used the envelope from the Take Note set as my focal image. It's stamped in brown ink, with the tiny heart added on in red. I used foam tape to attach the cut out envelope to an aqua panel with a red cardstock strip across it.
Instead of using other stamped images, I accented the envelopewith a crystal flourish and a red felt heart, cut with Verve's Heart Quartet die. I stamped the "a note to say I love you" sentiment in brown ink on a white cardstock piece and rounded the bottom corners, then tucked the piece underneath the bottom edge of the red cardstock strip. The panel is matted on brown cardstock, then layered on a white card base.
Materials Used:
Take Note stamp set, Heart Quartet dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa and Love Letter inks (Tsukineko); Sea Glass and Cherry cardstock (Avery Elle); Close to Cocoa cardstock (Stampin' Up!); white cardstock, clear crystal flourish, red felt (Michaels); corner rounder; foam tape
Happy new year, Lori !! :))
