You and Me
Here's my card for the current Fusion challenge. I combined the dominant colors from the challenge photo along with the sketch to create this love themed card. The colors are pretty non-traditional for a love card, but I think they work great for a masculine card.
I used a circle punch to make a trio of round openings in a cream cardstock panel. The panel was adhered to a gray card base, echoing the gray background wall in the photo. I filled in the openings with rust circles adhered to the card base. The top and bottom circles were stamped with "you" and "me" from Papertrey Ink's Grand Ampersand stamp set. I used gray pigment ink for a rich look. For the center circle, I used a die cut ampersand, cut with the coordinating Grand Ampersand dies. It's adhered to the rust circle with foam tape.
Since I used a sentiment within my trio of round elements, I didn't add one at the bottom of the cream panel. I just wrapped the panel with some white twine, securing it with a bow. After edging the panel with rust cardstock strips, I adhered it to the gray card base with foam tape. While I like clean and simple, this one looked a little too plain, so I added a trio of gray enamel dots, one at the side of each circle.
Materials Used:
Grand Ampersand stamp set, Terracotta Tile cardstock, Grand Ampersand dies (Papertrey Ink); Fog cardstock (Avery Elle); Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko); white twine (Hemptique); 1 3/8" circle punch (EK Success); gray enamel dots (My Mind's Eye); foam tape
