Celebrate Your Day

Here's my card for this week's Viva la Verve sketch.  I took a break from Valentine's Day and love themed designs for this birthday creation.

I created the focal image panel with one of the images from the Poppy Birthday set.  I stamped the poppies in black ink, then colored in the image with Copic markers.  The centers of the flowers are dotted with Liquid Pearls for a little dimension and shine.  The white panel was sponged with pink distress ink to match the rest of the card.

I layered the matted image panel on a piece of pink on pink patterned paper with a piece of solid pink cardstock with a scalloped edge along the bottom.  I found red cardstock scraps from my scrap pile to use for the two strips layered at the top and bottom of the image panel. The top strip was stamped with the "celebrate your day" sentiment.  The bottom one was dressed up with a piece of pink knotted ribbon to balance the design.
