Color Throwdown 280-You Mean the World to Me

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Melody is our hostess this week and she’s shared a pretty color combination with us—Old Olive, Soft Sky, Night of Navy, and Very Vanilla.

You Mean the World to Me-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Avery ElleI used the colors along with the current sketch at Retro Sketches for my card. My focal image is the globe from the Avery Elle Love Notes set. It was stamped on olive cardstock with blue pigment ink, then heat embossed with blue embossing powder. The blue’s not exactly Soft Sky, but let’s call it close enough, okay? The embossed image was punched out with a circle punch and adhered to a navy blue patterned paper panel with dimensional dots. The paper's pattern looked kind of star-like, so I thought it would be a good match for the Earth image.

I matted the patterned paper with cream cardstock, then attached it to the upper left corner of the Soft Sky card base. Once it was in place, I stamped the set’s “you mean the world to me” sentiment beneath the panel in navy blue pigment ink. I finished off the design by adding a few super sparkly silver sequin “stars” around the globe image.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD280.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our February guestie, Nicole Nastali, and our Guest Star Stamper, Allyson Andersen.
