Happy Birthday

Here’s my card for the first AEI♥U challenge. I used Avery Elle’s Fill in the Blank stamp set and coordinating dies to put together my birthday themed card.

Happy Birthday-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Avery Elle
I used the Fill in the Blank dies to die cut the word “happy” from pink and dark gray cardstock. After layering the letters for a shadowed look, I adhered them to a white panel, omitting the “A.” The “A” was filled in with a contrasting yellow balloon, die cut with the Icon Fill in the Blanks dies. Before attaching it to the panel with a dimensional dot, I added a pink twine string to the balloon. The twine was twisted around my paper piecing tool to get that little bit of curl you see.

Once the letters were in place, I stamped the “birthday” sentiment from the Fill in the Blank set beneath them in pink pigment ink. I matted the panel on pink cardstock, then set it on a piece of pink on pink dotted paper over half of a white paper doily. The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating pink card base.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Avery Elle Fill in the Blank stamp set and Fill in the Blank and Icon Fill in the Blank dies, Tsukineko Memento Luxe Rose Bud ink, Basic Grey Fresh Cut 6x6 paper pad, Hemptique Spring Bloom 2 twine, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other: Melon Mambo cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Steel Grey and Lemon Drop cardstock (My Favorite Things); white paper doily
