You're Super

Here's my card for yesterday's Papertrey Ink "building blocks of design" challenge.  My building blocks were Harvest Gold, Orange Zest, Aqua Mist, and Kraft cardstock, heat embossing, brads, button twine, and sketch number 4 to make a just because themed card.

You're Super-designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Papertrey InkI used the colors and the Bubble Talk stamp set to create a masculine design.  The angled panel at the top of the kraft card base is cut from Orange Zest patterned paper edged with a strip of Harvest Gold cardstock.  I wrapped the panel with some button twine before adhering it to the card base.

For the sentiment, I used the Bubble Talk dies to cut one of the speech bubble shapes from Aqua Mist cardstock.  The matching image is stamped on the die cut in coordinating ink.  I heat embossed the "you're super" sentiment on the speech bubble using brown ink and embossing powder.  It's adhered to the card with foam tape.  For my embellishment, I added a pair of copper brads along the right edge of the card.  I thought about using silver ones, but I liked the copper better with this color scheme.

Materials Used:
Bubble Talk stamp set, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, and Kraft cardstock, Orange Zest patterned paper, Bubble Talk and Double Ended Banner dies, natural button twine (Papertrey Ink); Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko); Lake House ink (WPlus9); Zing Chestnut embossing powder (American Crafts); copper brads (Michaels); circle punch (EK Success); foam tape
