Seize the Sketch 19-You're Super

It’s time for a new sketch at Seize the Sketch! This week’s sketch was designed by Jessi and it’s a fun one with lots of possibilities.

You're Super card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite ThingsI used the new You’re Super stamp set and matching dies from My Favorite Things for my card. I stamped the super hero image on a matching cardstock die cut, then colored her with Copic markers using a bold red and yellow color scheme. She’s adhered to a background panel made from a piece of sunburst patterned paper.

For the cardfront, I die cut a strip of pennant flags from red cardstock, then layered it across a gray dotted panel. I topped the pennant strip with a strip of wide red stitched grosgrain ribbon, then added the image panel on top. The “you’re super” sentiment was stamped in gray ink on a piece of a red fishtail flag strip and adhered to the top of the panel, extending just beyond the panel’s edge. It hides where I originally stamped the sentiment directly on the yellow panel—it was crooked, so I needed to come up with a way to hide it and the red fishtail flag strip seemed like a good option! I finished the card with a trio of sparkly silver sequin around the image.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the STS team has created using the new sketch. Here’s where to find them:
