Springtime Hello

It's been a while since I played along in one of the challenges at SCS, but I was home from work today, so I thought I'd give the clean and simple challenge a try.  I used the challenge colors for this simple card that doubles as my entry for this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS anything goes challenge.

Springtime Hello-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Paper Smooches
I used the colors to make a simple scene featuring one of the butterflies from the Flap Happy set. The butterfly was stamped in lavender ink on a matching white cardstock die cut, then topped with a vellum die cut for a soft look.  I folded the vellum layer back so that it looks like the butterfly is flapping its wings.  I used dimensional dots to adhere the butterfly to a blue striped patterned paper panel with a grass border at the bottom.  The butterfly's antennae and flight trail were stamped directly on the patterned paper in gray pigment ink.

I edged the patterned paper panel with a lavender scallop edged strip, then adhered it to a white card base.  The "hello" sentiment from the Chit Chat set was stamped in plum ink on a lavender fishtail flag strip and adhered to the cardfront, overlapping part of the image panel.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Paper Smooches Flap Happy and Chit Chat stamp sets, Butterflies 2 dies; Crafter's Companion ultrasmooth white cardstock; Tsukineko Memento Lulu Lavender and Sweet Plum inks, Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink; Doodlebug Design Sugar Shoppe Shoppe 6x6 paper pad; Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other:  Lovely Lavender cardstock (Gina K Designs); Spring Moss cardstock (Papertrey Ink); white vellum (The Paper Company); scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!); grass border punch (Fiskars)
