Sunny Scene

The current Lawnscaping challenge is to try a new to you technique. I decided to give creating a scene with inlaid die cuts a try for the challenge.

Hello Sunshine-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn
I combined Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Hello die along with the sun and a cloud from the Spring Showers dies to make my scene. I started off by die cutting the pieces from colored cardstock, using shimmery white for the cloud and golden yellow for the sun and word. Cutting the pieces let me experiment with how I wanted to arrange them on the background panel before I die cut it.

After cutting the blue panel, I adhered it to a contrasting pink mat, and machine stitched a border around the panel's edge, then set the die cut pieces in place. I stamped the “sunshine” sentiment from the Hello Sunshine stamp set beneath the word “hello” in gold ink, then heat embossed it for extra sparkle and shine. A few white sequins fill in the white space and finish the design.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine stamp set and Spring Showers and Scripty Hello dies, white sequins

Other: Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Melon Mambo, and Shimmery White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Delicata gold ink (Tsukineko); gold embossing powder (Michaels); sewing machine
