Thanks Sew Much

Here’s my card for the current Waltzingmouse Fanatics challenge. I used the sketch to make a simple thank you card.

Thanks Sew Much card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps
I stamped the pinking edged square from the Waltzingmouse Stamps Charm Squares set repeatedly across the bottom of a white panel using blue pigment ink. To keep the squares straight and to space them somewhat evenly, I placed a center finding ruler (one with a zero at the middle) at the bottom of the panel while I stamped. Once I finished with the squares, I stamped the “thanks sew much” sentiment at the top of the panel in kraft colored pigment ink.

To accent the squares, I made a faux button by stamping the set’s button image in red ink, then punching it out with a circle punch. I punched out a few more unstamped circles using the same punch and glued them together in a stack, then used a handheld punch to make the two buttonholes. I threaded the buttonholes with some thread from my scrap pile and added the finished button to the card using a glue dot. The button adds a little color and dimension, but is still flat enough so that the card can easily be mailed.

Materials Used:
Charm Squares stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Luxe Nautical Blue, Toffee Crunch, and Love Letter inks (Tsukineko); white cardstock (Michaels); Kraft cardstock (WPlus9); linen thread (Stampin’ Up!); circle punch (EK Success)
