Birthday Collage
Here’s my card for this week’s Muse card challenge. I was inspired by the die cut word used as a focal image with all of the stamping around it. Collage-type stamping kind of scares me, so this was as close as I could get to it and still stay in my comfort zone!
I started by die cutting the word "birthday" from the white panel. I also die cut the word three times from aqua cardstock. Once that was done, I stamped one of the aqua die cuts with the matching image from Papertrey Ink's Wonderful Words Birthday set in a slightly darker blue ink, then set it in the opening on the white panel. After it was securely in place, I stamped the words "happy" and "celebrate" from the Fillable Frames #5 set on the panel, being sure to overlap some of the text on to the die cut.
I carefully removed the stamped die cut word, then stacked and glued the three aqua die cut words together. I placed the stacked word on the panel, aligned with the die cut opening for a three dimensional look. To fill in the panel a bit, I stamped the chevron line image from the Live Love Life set underneath the words in shiny silver ink, then added a few sequins around the text.
Materials Used:
Wonderful Words Birthday, Fillable Frames #5, and Live Love Life stamp sets, Aqua Mist cardstock, Wonderful Words Birthday die (Papertrey Ink); Memento Luxe Nautical Blue and Love Letter inks, Encore Silver ink (Tsukineko); Aquamarine ink (Avery Elle); Cobalt sequins (Pretty Pink Posh); silver and red sequins (Michaels)
