It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Vickie is our hostess this week and she's selected this gorgeous color combination—Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay, and Lucky Limeade. It's an exciting day at the Color Throwdown because in addition to starting a new challenge, we’re thrilled to introduce our newest CTD team member, Cindy Lawrence, and our May guestie, Annette Allen. We're so excited to have them joining us!
I used the colors and the current Sketch for You to Try to put together a card in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. I used the Reverse Confetti Class Act set and coordinating dies for my card. Instead of reaching for patterned paper for my card, I stamped my own patterned paper using white ink and the set’s alphabet block image on green cardstock. I adhered the stamped panel to a Bermuda Bay panel, then attached a rounded rectangle panel, die cut with one of RC’s Class Act dies and stamped with the set’s notebook paper image, on top. The set’s “you make the grade” sentiment is stamped on the panel in navy ink. To bring in a bit more navy, I tucked a navy scalloped strip, trimmed off of the side of a Love Note die cut, underneath the right edge of the panel.
I topped the notebook paper panel with a green apple, adhered with foam tape for dimension. A fishtail flag strip cut from Bermuda Bay cardstock, is tucked underneath the panel to set it off from the green panel beneath it. A few blue sequins from Pretty Pink Posh complete the design.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones featured in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD291.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our May guestie, Annette Allen, and this week’s guest star stamper, Roberta Morin.
