Smile

Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. Instead of die cuts, I used stamped images to fill in the sketch’s grid panel.

Smile card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from My Favorite ThingsI stamped one of the camera images from the Picture This set repeatedly on a piece of gray grid patterned paper. I picked paper with a grid-like pattern in hopes that it would help me to keep my stamping somewhat straight! I started in the center with one camera stamped in contrasting red ink, then stamped the rest in gray ink around it.

The stamped panel was adhered to a gray panel over a red fishtail flag strip. I stamped the set’s “smile” sentiment in white pigment ink, then heat embossed it in white so it would stand out nicely against the gray. After adhering the panel to a black card base, I finished the design with a pair of bold red enamel dots next to the sentiment.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: My Favorite Things Picture This stamp set; Tsukineko Memento Luxe Gray Flannel, Love Letter, and Wedding Dress inks; Doodlebug Design Kraft ink Color-Color 6x6 paper pad; My Mind’s Eye Necessities red enamel dots

other: Electric Red and Steel Grey cardstock , Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax dies (My Favorite Things); Basic Black cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); white embossing powder (Michaels)
