Thanks to My Favorite Teacher

This week’s blogger challenge theme is buttons and bows. I used one of each on this teacher appreciation card based on the current Mojo Monday sketch.

Thanks to my Favorite Teacher card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Clear and Simple StampsI used the bookworm image from the Clear and Simple Stamps Flashcards stamp set as my focal image. The worm was colored with Copic markers, cut out, and adhered to a die cut kraft tag using foam tape. The word “thanks” from the Rag Doll: Super Hero set was stamped beneath the worm in black ink.

I layered the tag on a blue cardstock panel over a light blue cardstock square stamped with the alphabet text image from the Playroom stamp set. I topped the tag with a light blue paper bow die cut with one of the dies from the Bow Trio Mini set. I added a narrow red Favor Flag strip stamped with the word “teacher” extending out from the top of the bow. The end of the Favor Flag is folded around a stick pin from my stash.  I tucked the end of the pin underneath the tag, safely away from anyone's fingers!  A red button, threaded with some natural twine, was adhered to the tag to complete the design.
