I tried my hand at watercoloring for the current Lawnscaping challenge. As you can see from my results, watercoloring is really not one of my strengths . . .
I started out by stamping the bunny duo and one of the small hearts from Lawn Fawn's Hello Baby set in white pigment ink on watercolor paper, then heat embossing the images. Once the embossing had cooled, I went to work with my watercolors.
After the watercolors dried, I stamped the "hello sweet baby" sentiment at the top of the panel in aquamarine ink. I adhered the panel to a kraft card base over a tilted pale pink cardstock panel. I wanted one more bright pop of color, so I added a fishtail flag strip to the right corner and topped it with a piece of knotted white faux suede ribbon. A few white sequins arranged around the image panel add a little sparkle to the simple scene--and distract a bit from the watercoloring, too.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Lawn Fawn Hello Baby stamp set; Tsukineko Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink; Avery Elle Aquamarine ink; May Arts white faux suede ribbon; white sequins
other: Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo cardstock (Stampin' Up!); white embossing powder (Michaels); watercolors
What a sweet card! I just adore that great little Lawn Fawn stamp set!
