Poppy Sketches 8-Thinking of You
It's time for a new sketch at Poppy Sketches! As always, there's a little extra pop of color or pattern along with the sketch. For this one, we're using the colors summer green, sunshine, and noir. For this sketch, we're being sponsored by Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet. I used their Butterfly and Hibiscus digi stamp created by Floppy Latte on my card.
Before printing the image, I resized it so that it was smaller and would fit the sketch better. The ability to resize is one of the great things about digital images, isn't it? I colored the image with Copic markers, then added some soft dots around with pale blue and yellow markers to give it a bit of a background while still keeping the focus on the image.
After trimming the image, I matted it with black cardstock and adhered it to a golden yellow card base. I cut a double ended banner strip and adhered it along the bottom edge of the image panel. The sentiment I used is a sticker from a Pebbles sticker package. It fit perfectly on the banner strip! I accented the image with a pair of layered vellum butterflies attached to the top left corner of the image panel. The delicate vellum butterflies look so nice with the image.
For more inspiration, check out what the rest of the Poppy Sketches team has created using the sketch. Here's where to find them:
