Teachers Count

Today's a big day for me.  Tonight I meet the families of my new kindergarten students for the first time at my school's Kindergarten Orientation meeting.  I hope I make a good impression!  With that in mind, I'm sharing yet another school themed card.  This one is based on this week's Viva la Verve sketch and inspiration photo.

Teachers Count card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from Verve StampsI used Verve's Teachers Count set for my card.  I made a chalkboard style panel for the card's focal point with Verve's Rounded Scallop Frame die and a piece of gray cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped on the panel in white ink, then heat embossed in white embossing powder.

The panel was layered on a kraft card base covered with a piece of notebook patterned paper on top and a red cardstock panel on the bottom.  A strip of blue cardstock, wrapped with twine, hides the seam between the two papers.  I accented the sentiment panel with a pair of apples stamped with the apple images from the Teachers Count set and cut out with the coordinating apple dies.

Materials Used:
Teachers Count stamp set, Apples and Rounded Scallop Frame die (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Memento Luxe Love Letter and Pear Tart inks, Memento Rich Cocoa marker (Tsukineko); Whip Cream pigment ink, Steel Grey cardstock (My Favorite Things); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Sn@p Basics 6x6 paper pad (Simple Stories); twine (Hemptique); white embossing powder (Michaels); foam tape
