Color Throwdown 325-Orange You Glad It's Your Birthday?

It's time for another Color Throwdown!  Tammy is our hostess this week and she's chosen this great fabric inspired color palette--gray, pale yellow, tangerine, and aqua.

I needed a birthday card for a special little guy, so I used the colors along with a punny stamp set from Reverse Confetti and the current sketch from Retro Sketches to put this card together.  I stamped a pair of oranges using orange pigment ink, then die cut them with the matching dies.  The oranges were adhered to the bottom of a white panel edged with striped washi tape and a yellow cardstock strip for contrast.  I stamped the "orange you glad it's your birthday?" sentiment on the panel in gray ink.  After matting the panel on gray cardstock, I adhered it to a light blue card base.  I finished the design with a few enamel dots scattered around the image panel.

As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project.
