Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 254-You Melt My Ice

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! This week's sketch has a big panel that's perfect for making a scene--and that's just what I did with stamps and dies from The Cat's Pajamas.

You Melt My Ice card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from The Cat's Pajamas
I built my scene on a piece of blue dotted patterned paper to get the look of a snowy day.  The shimmery white strip adhered to the bottom of the panel was die cut with one of TCP's CutUps Holiday Toppers dies, giving it a curvy shape.  I stamped the skating due from the Melt My Ice set on white cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers.  The image was adhered to the scene using foam tape.

I stamped the "you melt my ice" sentiment in black pigment ink, then heat embossed it in black to give it a nice pop against the background.  After adding a pair of teal enamel dots next to the words as an accent, I matted the panel on gray cardstock.  It was adhered to a teal panel topped with a strip of red cardstock across the top, then set on a gray card base.

To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on Karen’s blog. For lots of inspiration be sure to check out what the other Sweet Sunday Sketch stampers have created for you this week. Here’s where to find them:
