You Color My World

This simple, easy to mail card was inspired by two challenges--the layout from the current Muse challenge and the theme of the current Sparkle and Shine Challenge.  The Sparkle and Shine Challenge inspiration photo is a shamrock, which made me think of St. Patrick's Day, which led me to the idea of a rainbow.

You Color My World card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn Fawn
Instead of using horizontal blocks of patterned cardstock (like the ones on the Muse inspiration card) to make the long stripe on my cardfront, I used narrow, solid vertical strips to form a rainbow.  I had plenty of cardstock strips on hand to use in my scrap collection!  I love the pop of the bold colors against the white background.  The "you color my world" sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Starry Backdrops set was stamped in black pigment ink in the break in the strip.

For a little sparkle, I arranged a trio of shiny silver sequins around the sentiment.  I matted the panel on black cardstock, then adhered it to a white card base.

Materials Used:
Starry Backdrops (Lawn Fawn); Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); Real Red, Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow, Green Galore, Pacific Point, Lovely Lilac, and Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); silver sequins
