How Sweet of You

Here's my card for April's second Viva la Verve sketch.  I stretched the square layout to a standard A2 sized card, but other than that, kept the elements of the layout intact.

How Sweet of You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Verve StampsI used the small cupcake and a sentiment from Verve's Small Packages set on the round pink panel.  The text was stamped in brown ink.  The cupcake was stamped on a matching die cut piece and colored with Copic markers, then adhered to the pink panel using foam tape.  Before adhering the panel to the kraft patterned paper panel, I arranged a bunch of looped twine beneath it.  It took me as long to "artfully" arrange the twine as it did for me to put the rest of the card together!  Once the panel was in place, I added rose fishtail flag strips above and beneath the pink circle, then dotted the strips with rose enamel dots.  The finished panel was adhered to a pale pink card base.

Materials Used:
Small Packages stamp set, Cupcake Frame dies (Verve Stamps); Memento Tuxedo Black and Rich Cocoa inks (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Bright Side-Upbeat designer paper (Lawn Fawn); circle die (Spellbinders); Die-namics Fishtail Flag Stax die (My Favorite Things); twine (Hemptique); pink enamel dots (Michaels); foam tape
