I Love You to the Moon
This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge theme is anything goes. I used the PS Space Cadet and Cosmos sets along with the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this simple, fun card.
I flipped the sketch upside down so that I could have the space ship from the Space Cadet set flying over a moon. The space ship was colored with Copic markers, then carefully cut out. I thought I'd bought the matching Space Cadet dies, but I haven't. I love this set, so I need to get the dies soon! It's hard to see in the photo, but I added one of those clear page pebble stickers over the rocket's window to give it a glass-like look. The moon was made from a yellow half-circle die cut that I debossed with a dotted pattern to make craters.
After adhering the moon to a navy card base, I covered the bottom edge the half circle with a strip of silver cardstock. The "I love you to the moon" sentiment from the Cosmos set was stamped in silver ink, then heat embossed in silver for an extra pop against the navy background.
Materials Used:
Space Cadet and Cosmos stamp sets (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Night of Navy and Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin' Up!); silver paper (Target); circle die (Spellbinders); Polka Dots embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts); silver embossing powder (American Crafts); page pebble (Making Memories); foam tape
