The Challenge 29-Play Ball
It was so nice to see so many people join us for The Challenge's first anniversary celebration last week! Hopefully we'll see many of you again for this week's challenge. We're back this week with a fun sketch challenge.
Today is opening day for the hometown Washington Nationals, so I went with a baseball themed card, even though I will admit that I'm really not a baseball fan. We didn't have a local team when I was growing up, so I grew up watching (and loving) hockey, football, and basketball, but not baseball. In fact, tonight I'll be loudly cheering on my alma mater, the University of Wisconsin, when they play for the national championship tonight--On Wisconsin! Chloe the cutie puppy will be hiding her head underneath the bed in a futile attempt to ignore me . . . But, since it's the start of the season and the Nats look like a contender, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon at least for the day.
I colored up the big eared bunny from the Play Ball set from The Cat's Pajamas and used foam tape to adhere the colored image to a light blue panel. The "ball" is a large white enamel dot. I adhered the panel to a navy card base with strip of red striped patterned paper along the left edge. The set's "there's no place like home" sentiment was stamped on a red banner strip cut with the CutUps Framed Up 2 die, then layered over the patterned paper and the image panel.
