It's time for another Color Throwdown! Barbara is our hostess this week and she's sharing this great color combo--hot pink, green, gray, and kraft. I used the colors along with a new coffee themed stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs and the layout from the current sketch at Retro Sketches to make this coffee themed design.
I stamped the coffee drink image with the help of my MISTI (it was especially helpful in lining up the straw images!), then used Copic markers to color it in. After cutting out the image, I used foam tape to adhere it to a piece of patterned paper on the left edge of a kraft card base. This paper scrap's been on my desk for a while now and the colors were a nice fit with this week's challenge!
To squeeze in a bit of gray, I stamped the "it's like a hug in a mug" sentiment in gray pigment ink on a pair of fishtail flag strips. I tucked the strips underneath the right side of the drink. After wrapping the card with a strip of pink grosgrain ribbon, I scattered a few enamel dots around the cardfront as an accent.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD346. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd346 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our June guestie, Nancy Thomas, and this week’s guest star stamper, Maura.
