As Cool As You Are
Here's my card for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge. It's also doubling as my "homework" for the MFT Summer School lesson on using primary colors.
I used a mix of red, yellow, and blue panels for my card. I started with a red card base, then layered a blue pierced rectangle die cut on top. That panel was topped with a yellow dotted panel that I cut with a pierced rectangle die. The dotted panel was matted with red cardstock for contrast.
I used one of the cute penguins from the Penguins in Paradise set as my focal image. The image was colored with Copic markers, then added to the yellow dotted patterned paper panel using foam tape. I stamped the sentiment on a long white fishtail flag strip, then accented it with a yellow twine-tied vintage button die cut.
Materials Used:
Penguins in Paradise stamp set, Dots and Stripes Sorbet 6x6 paper pad, Penguins in Paradise, Blueprints 21, Fishtail Flag Stax, Pierced Rectangle Stax, and Vintage Buttons dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Real Red and Yoyo Yellow cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Hawaiian Shores cardstock (Papertrey Ink); white twine (Hemptique); foam tape

This is SO cute, Lori! I just made a card for these 2 challenges using the same set (promise I wasn't copying lol!) I guess great minds think alike :)
ReplyDeleteThis little penguin with his trunks and popsicle gets me every time! Your little cutie pants Lori (pun may be intended ;) ), is no exception here. Just love how he sits on the wonky panel. And it's pretty sweet you were able to combine the Summer School with the Sketch. OH yea! Thanks for joining us on the MFT Challenge! :)
