Birthday Bear Hugs

Here's my card for this week's sketch at Retro Sketches.  I needed a birthday card for special friend, so I used the sketch and the new Birthday Bears set from My Favorite Things to put this one together.

Birthday Bear Hugs card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
I die cut the bear image from white cardstock, stamped it with the matching image, then colored it using Copic markers.  The bear was adhered to a pink pierced circle die cut using foam tape.  I layered the circle on to a light blue cardstock panel covered with a pair of coordinating patterned paper panels.  I usually don't mix stripes and stripes, but I think it works here!

Once the image panel was in place, I stamped the birthday sentiment on a pierced fishtail flag strip and adhered it to the panel, tucking the straight end underneath the bear image.  The finished panel was adhered to a pink card base.  I dropped the card off in the mailbox the other day, so I'm hoping it has made it to the recipient in time for her birthday today . . .

Materials Used:
Birthday Bears stamp set, Bubblegum cardstock, Die-namics Birthday Bears, Pierced Fishtail Flag Stax, and Pierced Circle Stax dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Sea Glass cardstock (Avery Elle); Raspberry Fizz cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Miss Caroline-Dolled Up 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); pink sequins (Treehouse Studio); foam tape
