Color Throwdown 354-Totes Ma Goats

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Wanda is our hostess this week and she’s brought us this earthy color combination--aqua blue, light coral, kraft, and grass green.

Totes Ma Goats card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from SugarPea Designs
I inked up my funny Totes Ma Goats set from SugarPea Designs for the very first time for this one. The layout I used was based on one I found at Clean and Simple Stamping. I flipped it around to fit my image better, but I think you can still see the basic design elements in my card.

I colored the set's larger goat image with Copic markers, then carefully cut him out. I used foam tape to adhere the goat to a simple background made from green cardstock and blue patterned paper. To fill in the scene, I used the new SugarCuts-Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies to cut a circle from coral-y colored cardstock. I adhered the circle to the upper left corner of the panel to form a sun, trimming the circle so that the edges were flush with the edges of the background panel. After matting the scene on light blue cardstock, I adhered it to a kraft card base. The “totes ma goats” sentiment was stamped just above the scene in black ink.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD354. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd354 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.

Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our August guestie, Lindsay Amrhein, and this week’s guest star stamper, Jen Wills.

  1. Super cute card Lori. Nice scene. Love the sweet goat. We used to have goats so my sons would love this cutie.

  2. OMGoodness, this is just too cute! We once had a pet miniature goat and this image brings back great memories! It also brings back some not so good memories like the time he ate ALL of my pretty geraniums in one of my flower beds!
