The Challenge 57-Hugs

*** Click HERE to see my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge! ***

The Challenge is back with a new challenge!   Since it's the third week of the month, this week we've got an inspiration challenge for you to try.   I used colors and elements from the vintage styled inspiration photo to put together a clean, modern design.

Hugs card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite ThingsMy layout is from the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I used a scribble die from My Favorite Things to make a flower in a pale shade of pink.  To add interest to the flower, I put a layer of vellum underneath the scribble layer, then added a solid pink layer beneath it.   I used foam tape to adhere it to the cardfront, then tucked a pair of die cut olive green leaves underneath the flower.

After debating for a while about what sentiment to use with the flower, I settled on "hugs" from the Whimsical Wishes stamp set.  It was stamped in kraft ink on the cream strip.  To bring in the photo's vintage feel on my otherwise modern design, I added a strip of cream trim along the bottom edge of the sentiment.

Check out what the rest of the talented team at The Challenge has created based on this week's inspiration photo.  Here's where to find them:
