I Whale Always Love You
Here's my card for this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. It's a somewhat loose interpretation of the layout, but I think it still works!
I can't get enough of the adorable Whale Hello stamp set from Avery Elle, so I inked it up again here. I colored one of the set's whale images with Copic markers, then cut it out with the matching die. The wavy background was made with a blue cardstock panel and a pair of different sized circle punches. I placed the wavy strip and the whale on a lighter blue card base.
To finish my scene, I made a sun from a pair of circles, one with a pinking (pinked?) edge and one in a gingham pattern, and tucked it underneath the top edge of the wavy panel. The set's "I whale always love you" sentiment was stamped just beneath the wave strip in gray pigment ink. A pair of teeny, tiny hearts were cut from red cardstock and arranged above the whale with foam tape to add a final contrasting pop of color to the design.
Materials Used:
Whale Hello stamp set, Sea Glass cardstock, Whale Hello dies (Avery Elle); Memento Tuxedo Black and Memento Luxe Gray Flannel inks (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Pacific Point and Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Harvest Gold cardstock, Lemon Tart patterned paper (Papertrey Ink); pinking circle dies (Spellbinders); circle punches (EK Success); foam tape
