Watercolored Birthday Wishes
Here's my card for the current challenge at Can You Case It. I incorporated the sketch (sort of) with the challenge's birthday card theme for this watercolored birthday design.
I started out by randomly stamping the scribbly circle images form the My Favorite Things Whimsical Wishes set in white pigment ink on a watercolor paper panel. After heat embossing the images in white, I used Zig Clean Color markers and an aqua brush to color in the images. I added a blue wash around them. It's much more subtle IRL than in my photo!
For the sentiment, I used a combination of a die cut and a stamped piece. The die cut "birthday" was layered on to a matching piece cut from craft foam for dimension. I stamped the word "wishes" on pink cardstock and heat embossed it, then trimmed around it. The cut piece was adhered just beneath the die cut word using foam tape. I adhered the finished panel to a coordinating blue card base.
Materials Used:
Whimsical Wishes and Big Birthday Sentiments stamp sets, Die-namics Happy Birthday dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Clean Color markers (Zig); Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Recollections Snow embossing powder (Michaels); craft foam; foam tape
