Mojo Monday 460-Sending Happy Thoughts

Happy Monday!  It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch.  I put together a sweet design that I'm sending off to my former office mate who will starting a new position soon so that she'll know I'm thinking of her.

Sending Happy Thoughts card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from WPlus9I started off by picking out the patterned paper for the strip that runs the length of the card. Once I had that on out my table, the rest of the card came together quickly as I found other papers to coordinate with the colors in the striped plaid pattern.

The large rose circle was in my scrap pile, so I added it to the pale blue card base over the patterned strip.  For the sentiment, I used the "sending" die from WPlus9's Sending, Hoping, Wishing Word dies to create a dimensional element for my sentiment panel.  I cut the word twice--once from cardstock and once from craft foam. After layering the die cuts, I adhered them to a pale gray panel, then stamped the "happy thoughts" sentiment from the coordinating Sending, Hoping, Wishing stamp set below in aqua ink.  I added the panel to the cardfront along with a narrow golden yellow fishtail flag strip.  A transparent pink button, tied up with a scrap of twine, completed the design.

Head on over to the Mojo Monday blog for more inspiration from the design team and to add your own take on this week's sketch!  You can also find all of the Mojo Makers at their blogs here:
