Bringing You Christmas Cheer

Here's my card for the current TCP Tuesday challenge at The Cat's Pajamas to use a tag on your design.  I incorporated my tag into the current layout at Match the Sketch to create this fun holiday card.

Bringing You Christmas Cheer card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from The Cat's Pajamas
The gift-bearing puppy from the First Christmas set is my focal image.  After coloring the image with Copic markers, I used foam tape to adhere it to a kraft tag cut with one of TCP's CutUps Luggage Tags dies.

The backdrop for the tag was made by layering a piece of plaid patterned paper onto a green cardstock panel.  I tucked a piece of contrasting solid red cardstock underneath the patterned paper's left edge before placing the tag on top.  A piece of red dotted grosgrain ribbon was threaded through the hole at the top of the tag and wrapped around the panel's edge.  After matting the panel on red cardstock, I adhered it to a kraft card base.  I stamped the set's "bringing you Christmas cheer" directly on the plaid paper, but it got lost in the busy pattern.  So, I turned to Plan B and stamped the text on a strip of green cardstock and layered it right over the words on the patterned paper to finish the card.

Materials Used:
First Christmas and Believe stamp sets, CutUps Luggage Tags dies (The Cat's Pajamas); Memento Tuxedo Black and Versafine Onyx Black inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); markers (Copic); Real Red cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Simply Chartreuse and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Home for the Holidays 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); red dotted grosgrain ribbon; foam tape
