Color Throwdown 421-Happy Holidays
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week with a pretty color combination--black, lime green, purple, and aqua. I combined the colors with the current challenge (sketch) at The Paper Players for a festive holiday design.
The inspiration photo definitely led me to using these non-traditional holiday colors on my holiday themed design. I started out with a green and aqua patterned paper panel. It's matted on black (I promise it's black, even though it looks purple-y in the photo!) and silver, then adhered on an angle to the lime green card base. I stamped the "holiday wishes" sentiment from Reverse Confetti's set in purple ink on a pierced oval die cut as the sentiment. The sentiment was adhered to the cardfront over a deep purple fishtail flag strip, using foam tape for dimension. A few coordinating purple sequins arranged around the sentiment completed the design and brought in a bit of sparkle, too.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD421. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd421 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our November guestie, Marisa Ritzen, and this week's guest star stamper, Kevin Bray.
