The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Here's my card for the current sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch. This simple but eye catching holiday design took about 10 minutes from start to finish--love when that happens!
I started out by stamping three different snowflakes from Avery Elle's Christmas Cheer set in sparkly silver ink on a dark blue card base. While the flakes set, I stamped the set's "it's the most wonderful time of the year" sentiment on an angled piece of light blue cardstock. Since the cardstock is textured, I used my MISTI so I could stamp the words a few times to get a nice, solid impression on the textured panel. After adhering a narrow strip of silver cardstock to the top edge of the light blue panel, I adhered it to the bottom of the darker blue card base. I thought about adding some sequins to the card, but in the end, decided that simple was best!
Materials Used:
Christmas Cheer stamp set (Avery Elle); Memento Luxe Nautical Blue and Delicata Silvery Shimmer inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Enchanted Evening cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Starmist textured cardstock (Bazzill); Recollections silver cardstock (Michaels)
