You Had Me at Merlot
Here's my card for the current CASology cue card--toast. I used the Free Spirits set from Paper Smooches for my clean and simple design.
A pair of wine glasses serves as my focal image. To get a merlot-ish color, I stamped the filler image inside the glass outline repeatedly until I got a rich red shade. To ground them, the glasses were arranged over a kraft scallop edged strip with a sparkly gold panel behind it. I stamped the punny "you had me at merlot" sentiment above the glasses in black ink. A few gold sequins scattered around the glasses added a little more sparkle to the design. The finished panel was adhered to a deep red card base.
Materials Used:
Free Spirits stamp set, Free Spirits Icons dies (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black and Rhubarb Stalk inks (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Cherry Cobbler cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock, scallop edge border die (Papertrey Ink); gold sequins; foam tape
