New Year's Cheers

On the last day of 2016, I thought it would be appropriate to end the year by raising a glass (or two) in a toast.  This card I made for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch challenge fits the bill perfectly!

Cheers card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps and dies from My Favorite Things
My focal image panel features a pair of glasses made with MFT's Layered Champagne Glass dies.  I cut the base of the glasses from shimmery white cardstock, then filled the glasses with shiny gold "liquid."  The bubbles were filled in with silver Liquid Pearls.  I arranged the glasses on a gray patterned paper panel, using foam tape for dimension.

To make a backdrop for the glasses, I placed a wide gold fishtail flag die cut across a gray cardstock panel.  The image panel was added on top.  I stamped the "cheers" sentiment from the Celebrate Big set in gold ink on a narrow pale gray fishtail flag strip, then positioned the sentiment at the edge of the panel, overlapping the stems of the glasses.  The finished panel was adhered to a white card base.

Materials Used:
Celebrate Big stamp set, Gravel Gray and Grout Gray cardstock, Die-namics Layered Champagne Glass, Fishtail Flag STAX and Fishtail Flag Layers STAX dies (My Favorite Things); Delicata Golden Glitz ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); gold paper (Target); Hip Hip Hooray 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); Silver Pearl Liquid Pearls (Ranger); foam tape
