Happy Happy Happy

Here's my card for the current sketch at Match the Sketch.  This is actually my second try--I wasn't happy with my first version, so I put together a second totally different card.  I'm not sure I'm totally happy with this one, either, but I do like it better . . .

Happy card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from My Favorite Things
I used a word die for my focal image, cutting the word "happy" from a strip of blue-green cardstock.  The die cut was adhered to a lighter aqua panel and the word "birthday" from the My Favorite Things Essential Sentiments stamp set was stamped beneath it in gray pigment ink.  I matted the panel on the same blue-green cardstock, then layered it on to a piece of patterned paper with the word "happy" on it.  I usually end up not using the papers in my patterned paper packs with words on it, so it was nice to actually  use one here!  I anchored the panel with a strip of festive silver starry washi tape at the top and die cut stitched stars at two of the corners.  Some silver sequins arranged around the largest die cut star added a final sparkly touch.  The finished panel was adhered to a coordinating blue-green card base.

Materials Used:
Essential Sentiments stamp set, Celebrate dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink (Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts); Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Recollections silver cardstock (Michaels); Here Is Happy-Record It 6x6 paper pad (My Mind's Eye); stitched star dies (Lil' Inker Designs); silver star washi tape; silver sequins; foam tape
